Welcome to the heartland of Huguenot Protestantism
Built on the fresh green hillside of the plateau, Privas is undoubtedly the capital of the "marron glacé". In the past, it was the stronghold of Protestantism and it was destroyed during the Religious Wars. The history of that period is recounted at the Museum of Pranles. On your way to the Rhône Valley, admire the charming city of Chomerac, whose squires were the owners of the silk factories; the medieval village of Saint Vincent de Barrès and its silkworm breeding farm that you can visit.
